About the Role

The Senior Data Engineer plays a senior role in the design, development, and maintenance of constructing and populating a data lakehouse architecture. This position helps develop and improve processes and techniques that ensure efficient data processing and high data quality to power analytics across the enterprise. The role applies deep technical expertise to design data architecture and data models, building pipelines that populate the various data zones (bronze, silver, and gold) within a cloud-based data lakehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline & Model Design: Design, build, and optimize batch and near real-time data pipelines and analytical data models (dimensional modeling/star schema) to support enterprise reporting, BI, and advanced analytics.
• Data Lakehouse Delivery: Lead the end-to-end technical delivery of complex data solutions, building pipelines across bronze, silver, and gold zones while ensuring scalability, reliability, and business alignment.
• Governance & Source Assessment: Assess source systems and data quality, defining transformation logic, data standards, and controls. Implement governance practices including data lineage, documentation, and secure data handling.
• Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Optimization: Collaborate with platform teams to optimize cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure), managing performance tuning, query execution, and cost efficiency.
• DevOps & Continuous Improvement: Support DevOps and CI/CD practices for data engineering, including automated testing, deployment pipelines, operational monitoring, and alerting to meet critical SLAs.
• Engineering Leadership & Mentorship: Perform code and design reviews, mentor team members, drive engineering best practices (modular design, reusability), and lead root cause analysis for pipeline issue resolution.
• Stakeholder & Platform Strategy: Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs. Evaluate emerging tools and technologies to enhance self-service enablement and platform strategy.
• Compliance & Ad-Hoc Duties: Follow Code of Conduct and physical/digital security practices; perform other job-related duties as directed by management.

The Profile We Are Looking For

• Architectural Vision & Execution: You excel at designing robust, multi-layered data lakehouse architectures and dimensional models that convert complex raw data into actionable enterprise data products.
• Data Engineering Craftsman: You possess deep expertise in SQL optimization, ETL/ELT pipeline design, and data streaming architectures across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Collaborative Technical Leader: You elevate team capabilities through active mentorship, rigorous code reviews, clear architectural guidance, and effective stakeholder communication.
• Operational & Governance Steward: You prioritize data quality, security, and automated CI/CD practices, ensuring data pipelines are cost-effective, maintainable, and reliable.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• ETL & SQL Expertise: Deep experience with data transformation, ETL/ELT processes, data management, and writing/optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Data Modeling & Architecture: Hands-on experience with dimensional modeling techniques (Star Schema), data lakehouse zone layering, and cloud infrastructure/Big Data platforms.
• Advanced Data Processing: Experience with data streaming, messaging, event-driven architecture, and working across various NoSQL databases (Graph, Document, Column).
• Governance & Agile: Strong knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks, alongside proven experience working in an Agile team environment.
• Soft Skills & Domain Knowledge: Excellent communication, presentation, and idea-articulation skills; basic understanding of Machine Learning and AI concepts.

Pay: Php60,000.00 - Php70,000.00 per month
