Senior Data Engineer (Databricks) – LATAM

Remote | Contractor | Full-Time

IT Tech Hub is looking for a Senior Data Engineer based in LATAM to join one of our US-based clients on a full-time remote engagement.

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with strong experience in Databricks, Azure, and modern data platforms to help design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions. Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Develop and optimize data solutions using Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.
• Work with large-scale datasets to support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Design and maintain data models, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Collaborate with data analysts, software engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and security across platforms.
• Optimize performance and cost efficiency of data processing workloads.
• Support data platform monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and PySpark .
• Solid experience with SQL and data modeling.
• Experience building and maintaining modern ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Azure .
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and data lake architectures.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD practices, and data engineering best practices.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure Data Factory , Synapse Analytics, or Delta Lake.
• Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka or Event Hubs.
• Knowledge of Terraform or Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Experience working with US-based clients or distributed teams.
• Exposure to machine learning or analytics platforms.
• Experience with Python-based data frameworks.
