Position Summary:

• Sr.Data Engineer responsible for delivering reliable, high-performance dashboards by managing EDW data ingestion pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and supporting business analytics needs and also responsible for designing, managing, and supporting end to end data ingestion, ETL pipelines, and EDW solutions to ensure high quality, reliable analytics data.

Mandatory Skills:

• ETL Tools: DBT, Stream sets, Wherescape RED, Informatica, SAP BODS

• Programming Languages: SQL, Python

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To manage data ingestion processes using Where scape RED and SQL Server platforms, ensuring data from various sources is ingested into Auckland Transport’s EDW through defined jobs.

• To maintain and define the data lifecycle, including data models and sources for analytics platforms.

• My role involves collaborating with multiple vendors and teams to provide source data to the EDW.

• To ensure data availability for downstream dashboards used by business and analytics engines for data scientists.

• Additionally, I design, develop, optimize, and maintain data architecture and pipelines that adhere to ETL principles and business goals.

• Handling all support deliverables as part of the Managed Services scope.

• Translate business requirements into clear, intuitive, and user-friendly visualizations aligned with operational and performance metrics.

• Work with data from multiple sources including SQL Server, Excel, Vertica, and Snowflake, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• Perform dashboard validation and user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and usability.

Qualifications & Certifications (Optional):

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Data Analytics

• Strong hands-on experience in data warehousing, ETL/ELT development, data ingestion, and enterprise data lifecycle management.

• Proficiency in WhereScape RED, SQL Server, advanced SQL, data modeling, job scheduling, metadata-driven development, and performance optimization.

• Working knowledge of EDW, ODS, data marts, dimensional modeling, source-to-target mapping, data reconciliation, and production support processes.

• Experience working with multiple data sources and platforms such as SQL Server, Excel, Vertica, Snowflake, and enterprise reporting/dashboarding tools.

• Understanding of dashboard validation, UAT coordination, data quality checks, incident resolution, change management, and managed services delivery.

• Preferred certifications include WhereScape RED training/certification, Microsoft SQL Server or Azure Data certifications, SnowPro Core Certification, and relevant data engineering, ETL, BI, or ITIL certifications.

Salary Range: >$100,000
