Senior Data Engineer

• This role will enable analytics teams at Rula to leverage AI against internal data in a secure and compliant manner
• As an individual contributor, you will partner with analytics, marketing, and product teams to understand their data needs and build the systems that allow AI applications to access trusted data at scale
• You will help define the standards, infrastructure, and governance that power AI-driven experiences across the company, ensuring data remains reliable, secure, and easy to use. This role will have a direct impact on how Rula uses AI to improve decision-making and operational efficiency

• Pay and benefits that aren’t geo-locked- Experience designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, data models, and data platforms
• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related field, including ownership of production data pipelines and systems
• Experience independently driving projects from design through production deployment and operational support
• Experience translating business requirements into technical designs and delivering solutions in partnership with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience implementing data security, governance, or access control practices for sensitive data
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL

• Experience with large language models (LLMs), semantic layers, model context protocols (MCPs), or related technologies
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Spark, Kafka, Iceberg, or similar technologies
• Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
• Experience working under HIPAA or other regulated environments
• Experience designing data architectures that enable large language models (LLMs) to securely access and reason over enterprise data
• Experience in influencing technical direction, establishing engineering standards, and mentoring other engineers
