We're partnered with a fast-growing, venture-backed AI company building complex enterprise software within life sciences.

They're hiring their first Data Engineer to take complete ownership of the data foundation behind a growing product suite, building the infrastructure that turns complex, fragmented data into reliable systems that can power product, analytics, and AI.

This is a true zero-to-one opportunity where you'll define the architecture, build the pipelines and data models, and own the platform as it scales.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Build the company's core data platform from the ground up

• Design and operate production ETL/ELT pipelines handling high-volume third-party data

• Build robust data models that connect information across multiple systems and sources

• Solve messy data problems including inconsistent identifiers, duplicates, schema changes, late-arriving data, and backfills

• Build reliable batch and event-driven pipelines with strong lineage, validation, and observability

• Create repeatable integrations across external APIs, data providers, and internal systems

• Build trusted datasets that power product features, measurement, experimentation, analytics, and AI

• Own the reliability, security, performance, and cost of the data platform as it scales

• Work closely with Product, AI, Engineering, and customer-facing teams to turn real-world data problems into scalable infrastructure

What They're Looking For:

• Strong Python and SQL with experience building production data systems

• Deep experience across ETL/ELT, data modeling, orchestration, and modern cloud data platforms

• Experience working with complex third-party datasets and reconciling information across different systems

• Strong understanding of data quality, lineage, observability, deduplication, and failure recovery

• Experience building reliable systems that can handle increasing volume and imperfect upstream data

• Comfortable owning ambiguous technical problems from initial architecture through production

• Experience with modern cloud warehouses and data tooling

• Experience within AdTech, marketing data, measurement, healthcare data, or other complex data environments is a plus
