MDM Lead Engineer — Semarchy xDM

About the Role

Turing is seeking a hands-on MDM Lead Engineer to support our end-client's Client Master Data team. This individual will serve as the technical owner of the Master Data Management platform, responsible for designing, building, integrating, and supporting MDM solutions while guiding onshore and offshore engineers.

The ideal candidate brings end-to-end Semarchy xDM implementation experience and remains actively involved in development, configuration, troubleshooting, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of the MDM platform using Semarchy xDM.
• Configure match and merge logic, survivorship rules, golden records, hierarchies, and data stewardship workflows.
• Develop and maintain master data models that support business requirements, data quality, and governance.
• Build and support production data pipelines and integrations across enterprise systems using technologies such as Snowflake, Azure, Azure Data Factory, dbt, Fivetran, Python, and APIs.
• Use SQL and data profiling to investigate data quality issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement lasting solutions.
• Guide onshore and offshore engineers, providing technical direction while maintaining hands-on ownership of delivery.
• Partner with business stakeholders, data stewards, and technology teams to translate requirements into reliable MDM solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve and modernize the existing MDM implementation.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience across data engineering, master data management, or related technical disciplines.
• Proven hands-on experience delivering Semarchy xDM implementations end to end .
• Strong expertise configuring:
• Match and merge rules
• Survivorship logic
• Golden records
• Hierarchies
• Data stewardship workflows
• Strong SQL skills, including data profiling, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience with data modeling and implementing data governance requirements within MDM solutions.
• Experience building and supporting production pipelines and integrations using tools such as Snowflake, Azure, Azure Data Factory, dbt, Fivetran, Python, or APIs.
• Experience leading or guiding onshore and offshore engineering teams.
• Current, hands-on technical involvement in solution development and implementation.
• Ability to work onsite in New York City three days per week.

Direct Semarchy xDM implementation experience is essential. Experience solely with Informatica, Reltio, or other MDM platforms does not meet this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services, asset management, wealth management, or capital markets.
• Experience managing client, party, or account master data.
• Salesforce integration experience.
• Experience modernizing or enhancing an existing MDM implementation.
