About the Role

Power real-world data science and operational intelligence at scale. Hitachi Digital Services is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize high-throughput data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and modern data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline Engineering: Build and maintain scalable batch and real-time streaming pipelines in Databricks.
• Feature & Analytics Engineering: Clean, model, and curate complex engineering datasets to power machine learning and advanced analytics models.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize complex SQL queries and PySpark transformations for speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Orchestration & Streaming: Integrate workflow automation using Airflow and event streaming with Kafka.
• Cross-Team Delivery: Collaborate closely with Data Scientists and domain engineers in an Agile setup to bring analytical prototypes to production.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience building production data solutions with Databricks.
• Advanced technical proficiency in PySpark, Python (Pandas), and SQL query optimization.
• Practical experience handling large-scale datasets and pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Kafka).
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and data modeling capabilities.
• Nice to have: Exposure to Delta Lake, Flink, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or Azure Data platforms.
• Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
