Senior Data Engineer

A specialist Microsoft Partner is looking for a Senior (Fabric) Data Engineer to lead the design and delivery of modern lakehouse platforms for enterprise clients. This is a hands-on engineering and architecture role with real influence, you will shape how data is structured, governed, and made accessible across complex organisations.

What you'll be doing

• Designing and implementing modern lakehouse architectures on Azure, including data integration, storage, and compute layer decisions
• Establishing centralised governance, access control, and compliance frameworks across the data platform
• Building DataOps practices - automated monitoring, cost management, and pipeline reliability at scale
• Advising internal and client stakeholders on platform strategy and the business impact of technical decisions
• Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to architecture direction and code quality

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience designing and operating Azure data platforms at scale
• Strong knowledge of Fabric
• Designed and built best-in-class data platforms
• Strong foundations in data architecture, distributed systems, data modelling, and performance optimisation
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and DevOps practices in a data engineering context
• B1+ German, Fluent English
