The role

• We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join our Data practice

  . You will own the design, build, and operation of cloud data platforms that serve enterprise clients and existing Huge intelligence products. You will set pipeline and modeling standards, review the work of other engineers, and make architecture decisions with Data Science, Strategy, and Technology partners. You will also design the data foundations and agentic workflows that AI agents depend on: governed, well-modeled, retrievable at low latency, and safe for agents to read and act on.

What you’ll do

• Architect and deliver batch and streaming pipelines across Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer), AWS (Redshift, S3, Glue), and Snowflake for Fortune 500 clients.
• Design dimensional and domain data models in dbt, and expose them through semantic layers that analysts, applications, and AI agents can query reliably.
• Build data products that serve agentic systems, including retrieval layers, embedding pipelines, vector stores, and governed tool interfaces (APIs and MCP servers) that agents call.
• Design agentic data workflows in which agents monitor pipelines, triage failures, generate tests and documentation, and propose fixes for engineer review.
• Use agentic workflows with cross-craft teams to accelerate pipeline development, testing, and migration from legacy systems, and validate every change before it ships.
• Set data engineering standards for orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing and observability, including evaluation and guardrails for agent-driven changes. Enforce them through code review.
• Own data quality, lineage, security, and cost management across platforms, including access controls and audit trails for agent access to data.
• Mentor Data Engineers, assign and review work, and represent the data engineering team in technical discussions.
• Translate client business requirements into technical designs and estimates for new engagements.

What we’d like to see

• 5+ or more years of professional data engineering experience delivering production pipelines for business or enterprise clients.
• Demonstrated ownership of at least one production data platform or major pipeline domain, including on-call or incident responsibility.
• Advanced SQL and strong Python for data processing and automation.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses, with depth in one of Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or BigQuery and working experience in a second.
• Production experience with dbt for transformation and modeling, and with a BI or semantic layer tool such as Sigma, Looker, or Tableau.
• Experience with orchestration (Airflow, Cloud Composer or Dagster) and with cloud data services on GCP or AWS (Dataflow, Glue, S3, Pub/Sub or Kinesis).
• Experience with data modeling, warehouse design, and performance and cost optimization.
• Working knowledge of how data supports agentic AI: embeddings, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation, tool calling, agent frameworks, and MCP.
• Daily use of AI coding agents such as Claude or Gemini or LLM-based tooling in engineering work, with the judgment to review and validate their output.
• Experience with CI/CD (GitHub Actions or similar), Terraform or equivalent, and automated data testing.
• Experience leading or mentoring other engineers, formally or informally.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience, with advanced English proficiency for global collaboration.
