Senior Data Engineer – Modern Data Platform

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, and SQL to build and maintain scalable enterprise data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines using Fivetran, dbt, and Snowflake.
• Configure and manage Fivetran connectors for SaaS applications, databases, APIs, and file-based sources.
• Develop dbt models, reusable macros, incremental models, tests, and documentation.
• Optimize Snowflake SQL queries, data models, and performance.
• Implement data quality checks, reconciliation, monitoring, and operational alerting.
• Troubleshoot production issues across ingestion, transformation, and data delivery pipelines.
• Support Git-based development, CI/CD pipelines, and DEV/QA/PROD deployments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to onboard data sources and deliver enterprise data products.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience.
• 2+ years of production experience with Snowflake and dbt.
• Strong hands-on experience with Fivetran connectors and ingestion pipelines.
• Advanced SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, and query optimization.
• Experience with dbt models, tests, macros, incremental processing, and deployments.
• Knowledge of Snowflake data modeling, performance tuning, RBAC, and data integration.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, enterprise SDLC, and production support.
• Strong understanding of modern ELT architecture, data quality, and pipeline troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Python scripting and automation.
• Apache Airflow / AWS MWAA and AWS services.
• Salesforce, Marketo, REST APIs, and SFTP integrations.
• Snowpark, Databricks, Terraform, and data observability tools.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Cursor.
