Senior Data Engineer, Python ETL, Gaming company

What you’ll do

·      Develop/optimize data pipelines for low-latency, real-time ETL/ELT delivery.

·      Architect secure, scalable APIs with auth, authorization, and data security.

·      Analyze datasets for personalized content/recommendations and UX enhancements.

·      Collaborate with data scientists, PMs, engineers to translate needs into solutions.

·      Manage infrastructure: monitor, troubleshoot, upgrade for reliability/scalability; recommend new tech.

What we’re looking for

·      Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).

·      3–5+ years in hands-on data engineering.

·      Proficient in Python and SQL; working knowledge of Java/Scala.

·      Experience with Spark, Kafka, Hadoop.

·      Hands-on with ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, data warehousing, streaming architectures, and performance optimization.

·      Experience with Airflow or similar workflow/orchestration tools.

·      Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure (data, storage, compute).

·      Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) is a plus.

·      Experience building or integrating RESTful APIs / GraphQL.

·      Understanding of OAuth, JWT, authentication/authorization mechanisms.

·      Excellent Communication in Cantonese, and English will be an advantage.

Nice to Have

·      Experience in building and securing RESTful APIs or GraphQL services.

·      Knowledge of API security standards (e.g., OAuth 2.0, JWT, API gateways).

·      Background in data analytics, user modeling, or personalization.

·      Familiarity with data quality, observability, and data governance practices.

·      Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
