Senior Data Migration Engineer (2 positions)

We’re partnering with a Queensland Government department to engage two Senior Data Migration Engineers for a major technology transformation project.

Joining this critical project during the build phase, you’ll design, build, test and support repeatable data migration processes from Appian-based SQL source systems into Microsoft Dataverse.

Working closely with architects, developers, testers and business stakeholders, you’ll help deliver reliable, auditable data migration processes that support a modern, cloud-based platform and improved business services.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and build repeatable data migration pipelines, scripts, dataflows and loading processes.
• Analyse SQL source systems, profile data and implement source-to-target mappings and transformation rules.
• Migrate data into Microsoft Dataverse, managing relationships, dependencies, lookups and platform-specific requirements.
• Develop data validation, reconciliation, exception reporting and data quality checks.
• Support test migrations, mock loads, defect resolution, production cutover and post-migration validation.
• Apply automation, logging, error handling and retry logic to improve migration reliability and traceability.
• Work within an Agile delivery team, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain delivery quality.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll bring strong hands-on data migration engineering experience, ideally within complex enterprise environments, along with:

• Proven experience migrating data into Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365, Power Platform or comparable enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Strong SQL skills covering data analysis, extraction, transformation, validation and reconciliation.
• Experience with Microsoft cloud data tooling, such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform dataflows, Power Query and Azure SQL.
• Knowledge of Dataverse data structures, relationships, lookups, alternate keys, ownership and data load sequencing.
• Experience with migration tools such as KingswaySoft, SSIS Integration Toolkit, XrmToolBox or equivalent.
• A practical approach to troubleshooting data quality issues, migration defects and complex technical dependencies.
• Experience working in Agile teams, using tools such as Azure DevOps for backlog management, source control, defect tracking and release support.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues, risks and solutions to both technical and business stakeholders.

Highly Regarded

Experience with Appian data models, Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse or Warehouse environments, complex document and attachment migrations, data governance, or relevant Microsoft data engineering certifications will be advantageous.
