Senior Data Modeler

Responsibilities:

• Translate business requirements and Supply Chain use cases into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Design Databricks schemas optimized for Medallion Architecture and distributed processing environments.
• Develop dimensional models, star schemas, conformed dimensions, and analytical data structures.
• Design and govern Data Vault 2.0 or alternative analytical modeling patterns where appropriate.
• Define canonical keys, entity grain, conformed dimensions, and business definitions across Supply Chain domains.
• Design scalable Delta Lake physical structures that optimize storage, performance, and cost.
• Drive partitioning, clustering, distribution, and optimization strategies for enterprise analytics workloads.
• Define and govern SCD Type 1 and Type 2 methodologies across Silver and Gold layers.
• Establish reusable modeling patterns and collaborate with engineers on reusable SCD framework implementation.
• Design semantic models, views, and governed consumption layers supporting enterprise BI platforms.
• Define data lineage, ownership, refresh strategies, and semantic documentation standards.
• Ensure alignment with Unity Catalog governance and enterprise standards.
• Serve as the semantic authority across Supply Chain entities and analytical products.
• Enforce enterprise data modeling, naming, governance, and architectural standards.
• Mentor engineers and analysts on best practices related to grain, conformance, versioning, and model design.

Must-Have Skills:

• Advanced conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling experience.
• Strong Databricks data modeling expertise.
• Experience designing star schemas, fact and dimension tables, Data Vault 2.0 solutions, and other enterprise analytical data structures.
• Expertise defining canonical keys, entity grain, and conformed dimensions.
• Deep knowledge of Delta Lake physical design including clustering, partitioning, bloom filters, identity columns, and time-travel strategies.
• Experience optimizing distributed processing and query performance.
• Strong expertise with SCD Type 1 and Type 2 design strategies.
• Experience designing reusable Silver and Gold data assets.
• Experience creating semantic layers for BI and analytics consumption.
• Strong understanding of Unity Catalog and enterprise governance models.
• Experience documenting business definitions, lineage, ownership, and consumption models.
• Proven leadership experience establishing data standards and governance practices.
