Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Modeling Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in SAP PowerDesigner and ER/Studio Data Architect to lead enterprise data model migration initiatives.

The role involves migrating conceptual, logical, and physical data models from SAP PowerDesigner to ER/Studio, including metadata mapping, remediation, validation, reconciliation, and automation.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in enterprise data architecture, metadata management, data modeling standards, and migration execution, along with the ability to lead technical discussions and guide team members.

Important: This is a Data Modeling and Migration role, not a conventional SAP functional or SAP development role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess existing SAP PowerDesigner models, including CDM, LDM, and PDM, and evaluate migration complexity.

• Define migration strategies, mapping standards, governance procedures, risks, and quality controls.

• Lead pilot migrations and execute model migration using ER/Studio MetaWizard.

• Develop source-to-target mappings for metadata, domains, data types, relationships, keys, and custom attributes.

• Identify and resolve migration issues involving unsupported objects, customized metadata, model dependencies, and repository structures.

• Perform model comparison, reconciliation, validation, defect resolution, and quality checks.

• Develop scripts, macros, and automation utilities to streamline bulk migration and validation.

• Use the ER/Studio Automation Interface for migration automation and quality assurance.

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, data modelers, database teams, and business stakeholders.

• Lead technical workshops, reviews, presentations, and knowledge-transfer sessions.

• Prepare migration documentation, standards, SOPs, runbooks, and reusable migration frameworks.

• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership throughout the migration lifecycle.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with SAP PowerDesigner.

• Strong hands-on experience with ER/Studio Data Architect.

• Enterprise data modeling: Conceptual Data Models (CDM), Logical Data Models (LDM), and Physical Data Models (PDM).

• Metadata management, domains, reusable objects, custom metadata, extensions, and model dependencies.

• Repository management, impact analysis, and enterprise model governance.

• ER/Studio MetaWizard, Data Dictionary, model comparison, and synchronization.

• SQL, XML, scripting, and automation.

• Source-to-target mapping, migration validation, and model reconciliation.

• Relational database design and experience across multiple DBMS platforms.

Preferred Experience

• Previous migration from SAP PowerDesigner to ER/Studio or experience with comparable enterprise modeling-platform migrations.

• Metadata modernization and repository transformation.

• Development of migration frameworks and automation accelerators.

• Enterprise architecture and data governance exposure.

• Customer-facing consulting, technical leadership, and team mentoring.

• Experience working with distributed or global teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A Senior Data Modeler, Enterprise Data Architect, or Data Modeling Migration Consultant with deep expertise in both SAP PowerDesigner and ER/Studio Data Architect, preferably with hands-on experience leading enterprise-scale model migration projects.

Pay: ₹800.00 per hour
