Job Purpose:

The Senior Data Scientist – Analytics is responsible for developing and implementing advanced analytical models that drive business performance, optimize decision-making, and support data-driven strategy across Floward. The role involves deep statistical analysis, machine learning, and model deployment in collaboration with stakeholders across product, operations, engineering, and marketing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong quantitative background, experience in data science tools and infrastructure, and a track record of translating complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis & Insight Generation

• Conduct in-depth exploratory data analysis to uncover business trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
• Perform advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques to solve key business problems.
• Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences using storytelling and visualization.
• Design, run, and analyze A/B tests and controlled experiments, including hypothesis definition, sample size and power analysis, guardrail metrics, and statistical significance, and translate results into clear product and business decisions.

2. Model Development & Deployment

• Design, build, and validate predictive and classification models for use cases such as demand forecasting, recommendation systems, and churn prediction.
• Deploy models into production, monitor performance, and retrain as necessary based on business feedback and live data.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate data science models into applications and platforms.

3. Innovation & Applied Research

• Research and experiment with cutting-edge AI/ML methodologies to improve modeling accuracy and efficiency.
• Evaluate new data sources, modeling frameworks, and feature engineering strategies.
• Contribute to the development of internal data science tools and scalable analytical solutions.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

• Translate complex modeling outputs into actionable business insights.
• Work closely with business leaders and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
• Participate in roadmap planning and identify opportunities to embed advanced analytics into business workflows.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline (PhD is a plus).

Experience:

• 5+ years in applied data science, analytics, or machine learning within a product-driven or e-commerce environment.
• Proven track record of deploying ML models in production and demonstrating business impact.
• Strong portfolio of analytical projects involving real-world business problems and measurable outcomes.
• Hands-on experience designing, running, and analyzing A/B tests and online experiments in an e-commerce or product environment, with solid knowledge of statistical inference (hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, multiple-testing corrections).

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and/or R.
• Strong knowledge of SQL for data extraction and transformation.
• Familiarity with ML deployment and version control tools (e.g., Docker, Git, MLFlow).
• Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Streamlit.
• Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other deep learning frameworks is a plus.
• Exposure to cloud data services such as AWS (SageMaker, Redshift), GCP (BigQuery), or Azure is an advantage.
