Job Overview As a Senior Data Scientist at ifarmer , you will be a strategic architect of our

data-driven ecosystem. You will lead the development and integration of advanced analytical solutions across financial risk modeling, geospatial intelligence, forecasting, and Generative AI to strengthen decision-making across the agricultural value chain.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic leadership. You will design proprietary models, develop scalable data products, and evaluate external technology partnerships to accelerate innovation and deliver measurable business impact.

Responsiblity

• Define and execute the data science roadmap aligned with business priorities across agri-finance, supply chain, and operations.
• Lead the development of credit risk models, demand and price forecasting, and geospatial monitoring systems.
• Establish robust data architecture, governance, experimentation, and analytics frameworks.
• Drive a pragmatic Build vs. Partner strategy, leveraging external APIs and technologies where appropriate.
• Lead the adoption of LLM, voice-based AI, and intelligent automation to improve workflows and field accessibility.
• Develop computer vision and satellite-based solutions for crop/livestock health, produce quality, risk assessment, and operational monitoring.
• Ensure AI/ML solutions are production-ready, scalable, and reliable through effective MLOps practices.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, and field teams to translate data insights into actionable business solutions.
• Measure the real-world impact of data and AI initiatives and continuously improve models based on operational and field feedback.
• Mentor the data team, manage technology partnerships, and communicate technical concepts clearly to leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
