Senior Data Scientist

An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Pricing Data Scientist to join a growing insurance analytics and pricing transformation team. The role offers exposure to leading insurers, MGAs and Lloyd’s market organisations, supporting the enhancement of pricing capabilities through advanced analytics, machine learning and technology-driven transformation. You will combine technical data science expertise with commercial insight, contributing to complex pricing initiatives and helping insurance businesses make more informed, data-driven decisions.

About the Role

This position offers a combination of technical data science, commercial problem-solving and exposure to strategic pricing initiatives across the insurance market. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, explore emerging AI and machine learning capabilities, and contribute to the evolution of modern insurance pricing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pricing analytics and data science projects across the General Insurance market.
• Develop predictive pricing models using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Support pricing transformation initiatives, including process optimisation, governance and operating model design.
• Identify new data sources and innovative approaches to risk segmentation and pricing sophistication.
• Advise on pricing technology, automation and advanced analytics solutions.
• Translate complex analytical findings into actionable commercial insights.
• Collaborate with actuaries, data engineers and senior stakeholders to deliver effective pricing solutions.
• Contribute to business development activities, proposals and client presentations.

Qualifications

• Experience in General Insurance pricing, pricing analytics, actuarial consulting or data science.
• Strong understanding of insurance pricing principles and portfolio management.
• Exposure to pricing transformation, analytics modernisation or large-scale change initiatives.
• Experience working with insurers, consultancies or insurtech organisations.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with advanced statistical modelling and predictive analytics.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques, including GLMs and gradient boosting.
• Experience in data visualisation and analytical storytelling.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
