Senior Data Scientist – R&D & Algorithmic Development

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the development of advanced algorithms, geospatial intelligence solutions, and data-driven tools that enhance the performance and reliability of subsea fiber optic infrastructure. This role combines machine learning, geospatial analytics, data engineering, and software development to support research, operational decision-making, and workflow automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced algorithms and data pipelines using machine learning and statistical techniques
• Improve the performance, reliability, and monitoring capabilities of subsea fiber optic infrastructure through data-driven solutions
• Perform advanced geospatial analyses to map, monitor, and optimize subsea cable routes
• Create impactful visualizations and communicate actionable insights to technical and business stakeholders
• Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning and statistical models in production environments
• Build internal tools, including web applications, REST APIs, CLI utilities, and automation scripts
• Architect scalable data pipelines and manage large, complex datasets for analytics and model development
• Apply LLMs to automate complex workflows and extract insights from structured and unstructured data sources
• Collaborate across R&D, engineering, and business teams to translate technical findings into practical solutions

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Python and the data science ecosystem, including NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, and/or TensorFlow
• Hands-on experience with geospatial tools and platforms such as GeoPandas, Google Earth Engine, and QGIS
• Proven experience building and deploying machine learning models in production
• Experience developing web applications and APIs using Streamlit, FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks
• Strong background in data engineering and large-scale dataset management
• Experience applying LLMs for automation, analysis, or workflow optimization
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional R&D environment
