Senior Data Storage Solution Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Storage Solution Engineer to provide technical leadership across enterprise storage and data protection solutions. Working closely with customers, sales teams and technology partners, you will translate complex business and technical requirements into robust storage architectures and support opportunities throughout the pre-sales and delivery lifecycle.

The Role
This is a senior customer-facing technical position for someone with strong experience in enterprise storage architecture and pre-sales solution design.

You will:

• Understand customers’ storage, backup, disaster recovery and data protection requirements
• Design complex enterprise storage solutions across SAN, NAS, backup and related technologies
• Perform solution sizing, capacity planning, performance analysis and product configuration
• Lead customer technical discussions, workshops, product demonstrations and proof-of-concept activities
• Develop solution architectures, technical proposals, bills of materials and tender responses
• Provide specialist storage expertise to sales and broader infrastructure solution teams
• Work with technology partners and delivery teams to validate solution feasibility and support implementation
• Develop strategies covering storage migration, consolidation, upgrades and disaster recovery
• Identify technical risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
• Maintain strong knowledge of emerging storage technologies and competitor solutions

About You
We are looking for someone who combines deep storage expertise with the ability to engage confidently with enterprise customers.

Ideally, you will bring:

• 5+ years' experience in enterprise storage, solution design, pre-sales engineering or technical consulting
• Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, backup and data protection technologies
• Demonstrated experience designing complex enterprise storage solutions
• Experience supporting enterprise sales opportunities from technical discovery through to solution design
• Experience preparing technical proposals, solution architectures and tender responses
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capability
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• The ability to lead technical discussions with customers, internal teams and technology partners
• A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
