Senior Data Tech Lead - Ingestion Squad (AWS + Snowflake)

We are building a Customer Data Platform (CDP) on AWS and Snowflake. The platform ingests data from a wide range of source systems and exposes clean, governed datasets to domain squads who own the downstream transformation and modeling work.

We are looking for a Tech Lead to join the Ingestion team. The role has two equally important sides:

1. Technical leadership of the ingestion stack
You own the technical direction of how data lands in our platform — pipeline design, framework choices, performance, cost, reliability, and the contract we expose to downstream transformation squads. You make the architecture decisions that let us onboard new sources quickly without compromising on quality or observability.

2. Relay for our offshore team in India
You technically drive an offshore engineering team based in India and act as their primary point of contact in France. You review their designs and code, unblock them, set the technical bar, and make sure what they ship is consistent with the broader platform direction. You are the bridge between the French stakeholders (product, domain leads, transformation squads) and the offshore delivery team.

A typical week looks like:

• Architecture and design reviews on new ingestion patterns (batch, CDC, streaming, API).

• Working sessions with the offshore team — design walkthroughs, code reviews, technical pairing, unblocking.

• Syncs with domain squads consuming our datasets to align on contracts, SLAs, and roadmap.

• Hands-on work on the harder pieces of the stack: AWS data services, Snowflake ingestion patterns, orchestration, observability, cost optimization.

• Contributing to platform standards (CI/CD, testing, data quality, security) across the ingestion codebase.

Must have

• 7+ years in data engineering, with at least 2-3 years in a tech lead or staff-level role on a data platform.

• Strong hands-on AWS background — comfortable designing ingestion architectures using the relevant AWS data services (e.g. S3, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis/MSK, Step Functions, IAM) and reasoning about cost, security, and scalability.

• Strong Snowflake expertise — ingestion patterns (Snowpipe, COPY, streams/tasks), warehouse sizing, RBAC, performance tuning. Experience exposing data to multiple downstream consumers.

• Proven experience designing efficient ingestion architectures that serve transformation/analytics squads — schema contracts, data quality, observability, idempotency, replay.

• Experience technically leading an offshore team (ideally India) — setting standards, reviewing designs and code remotely, working across time zones, and being comfortable as the single point of technical contact.

• Excellent communication in English; comfortable being the relay between French stakeholders and an offshore team.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt or with squads using dbt downstream of your platform.

• Familiarity with CDP / customer data use cases, identity resolution, or marketing data.

• Experience with IaC (Terraform), CI/CD on AWS (CodeCommit / CodePipeline or equivalent).

• Prior experience in regulated environments (GDPR, data residency).
