Key Responsibilities Of The Role

• Install, terminate Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7 copper cabling
• Install, terminate and patch fibre optic cabling
• Capable of testing copper cabling installation
• Capable of testing fibre cabling installation
• Troubleshoot cabling faults
• Produce test results and handover documentation
• Understand cabling drawings and schematics
• Rack and stack IT and telecoms equipment
• Patch and manage network connections
• Support network upgrades and migrations
• Install containment systems (cable tray / trunking)
• Read and understand project specifications
• Label and document installation to project specifications
• Provide daily and weekly progress reports
• Follow Health and Safety procedures
• Ability to communicate clearly with Project Manager / Project supervisor and other trades on site
• Support commissioning teams and project handover
• Problem solving under pressure
• All other duties associated with the role

Essential Criteria For The Role

• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with testing fibre using ODTR / OLTS equipment
• Experience reading detailed construction drawings / rack elevations / schematics / cable schedules
• Previous experience leading a small team
• MEWP working at height / manual handling certification
• Basic computer skills ( MS Office Suite / Windows / MS Project)
