Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join our DBA team, responsible for the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and maintenance of mission-critical database environments supporting financial services platforms.

The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of overall experience in Database Administration, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with strong expertise in SQL Server, Azure Cosmos DB, Terraform, Spacelift/TACO, Azure Networking & Security, and DevOps/SRE practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and optimize relational and NoSQL databases across production and non-production environments.
• Design and implement backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks and anomalies.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.
• Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams on database infrastructure and automation.
• Perform capacity planning and support scalability for high-volume transaction systems.
• Implement database security controls, auditing, governance, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Maintain database architecture, operational procedures, and technical documentation.

Mandatory Skills

• 7+ years of overall experience in Database Administration, DevOps, or SRE.
• Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server / MSSQL.
• Experience with Azure Cosmos DB / CosmosDB.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform.
• Experience with Spacelift / TACO.
• Good knowledge of Azure Networking and Azure Security.
• Strong understanding of DevOps / SRE practices.
• Strong SQL and database performance tuning skills.
• Experience with database replication, partitioning, high availability, and scalability.
• Strong scripting experience in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Good to Have

• Experience with AWS database services such as RDS, Aurora, and Redshift.
• Knowledge of CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Datadog, Prometheus, and Redgate.
• Experience in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of data warehouse integrations and analytics platforms.
• Experience working in FinTech / regulated financial services environments.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
