Senior Database Administrator / Database Infrastructure Support

Senior Database Administrator / Database Infrastructure Support Contract (6 Months + Possible extension) **Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid)

Pay Rate: $35-41 an hour on W2 (DOE)**  

This is a Senior Database Administrator / Database Infrastructure Support role focused on keeping a large, global banking environment's databases stable, secure, available, and optimized.

 

R esponsibilities

• Administer and support multiple database platforms, especially Sybase ASE/IQ/Replication and IBM DB2, plus PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, and Hadoop.
• Support databases running on Red Hat Linux.
• Handle monitoring, troubleshooting, incident/root-cause analysis, maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and provisioning.
• Schedule and manage jobs using Autosys, cron, and Bash.
• Participate in Business Continuity/DR testing and enterprise infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with application and other IT teams, including global teams.
• Follow change-management procedures and create operational documentation/policies.
• Work on larger initiatives such as data center migrations and database software/hardware end-of-life projects.

Qualification Required:

• 5+ years of DBA experience
• Sybase ASE, IQ & Replication on Linux
• IBM DB2/UDB, particularly HADR
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux
• Production troubleshooting and database maintenance
• Automation/job scheduling with Autosys, cron, Bash
• Experience in a complex enterprise/banking environment
• Strong communication with global IT teams
