Senior Database & Data Operations Lead

Responsibilities:-

• Administer and support enterprise database environments, including monitoring, performance, availability, backup, restore, security, and operational continuity.
• Develop, review, and maintain SQL queries, functions, procedures, and database objects required to support application and data-processing operations.
• Manage users, roles, permissions, access controls, and database operational configurations in accordance with approved security requirements.
• Support data loading, cleansing, validation, integration, troubleshooting, and reconciliation activities within production database environments.
• Analyze and resolve database incidents, performance issues, data inconsistencies, and operational failures in coordination with technical teams.
• Support database design changes, schema updates, deployment activities, and production-readiness requirements while maintaining data integrity and service continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in database administration, data operations, or related data engineering roles, with proven leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Solid knowledge of database architecture, performance tuning, high availability, backup & recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Strong SQL skills and experience in database optimization, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
• Experience managing production database environments and ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance.
• Good understanding of data operations, ETL/ELT processes, data integration, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
• Experience with cloud databases and data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Knowledge of database security, access control, encryption, auditing, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools for databases and data platforms.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automation is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of ITIL, incident/problem management, change management, and operational SLAs.
• Proven experience leading technical teams, managing priorities, and coordinating with infrastructure, application, security, and business teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 production environment and handle critical incidents when required.
