Exp: 8-15 Years Key Responsibilities Database Architecture & Design

• Design scalable, resilient, and high-performance database architectures for enterprise applications.
• Define database standards, best practices, and governance frameworks.
• Create logical and physical data models aligned with business and application requirements.
• Design efficient database schemas, tables, relationships, indexes, constraints, views, and stored procedures.
• Establish database partitioning, sharding, and archival strategies where required.
• Ensure database solutions support scalability, maintainability, and future growth.

Database Migration & Modernization

• Lead end-to-end database migration initiatives.
• Assess legacy database environments and define migration strategies.
• Perform database migrations, including:
  • Legacy databases to PostgreSQL
  • Legacy databases to Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL
  • On-Premise to Cloud
  • Cloud to Cloud
• Define migration approaches covering schema migration, data migration, validation, reconciliation, rollback planning, and cutover execution.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and minimal business disruption during migration activities.
• Develop migration automation frameworks and scripts where applicable.

Database Performance Engineering

• Analyze and optimize database performance.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Tune queries, stored procedures, functions, execution plans, and indexing strategies.
• Conduct database health checks and performance assessments.
• Define and monitor database KPIs and SLAs.
• Support production performance troubleshooting and issue resolution.

PostgreSQL & Microsoft SQL Server Administration

• Design, implement, and support enterprise-grade PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Configure replication, clustering, backup & recovery, failover strategies, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Manage database security, access controls, and compliance requirements.
• Support database upgrades, patching, and environment standardization.

Redis & Caching Architecture

• Design and implement caching strategies using Redis.
• Identify performance bottlenecks that can be improved through caching.
• Design session caching, data caching, distributed cache architectures, and cache invalidation strategies.
• Collaborate with application teams to optimize application performance using Redis.

Cloud & Modern Database Platforms

• Support cloud-native database architectures on Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
• Evaluate managed database services and recommend optimal solutions.
• Drive database modernization and cloud migration initiatives.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, Application Development Teams, Infrastructure Teams, DevOps Teams, and Business Stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship on database architecture and performance best practices.
• Conduct architecture and design reviews.
• Establish enterprise data management standards.

• Exposure to Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB is preferred.
