Senior Databricks Platform Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Databricks Platform Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on building, optimizing, and governing a modern data platform that supports analytics, ingestion, and enterprise data access. The position will partner closely with data engineering, infrastructure, and business intelligence teams to improve platform reliability, performance, and scalability. It is well suited for someone who can combine deep Databricks expertise with strong automation and cloud experience to strengthen the organization's data foundation.

The successful candidate will oversee platform configuration, capacity planning, and access management while helping enable secure and efficient data delivery across the enterprise.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $169,604 – $229,464 annually

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain the Databricks Lakehouse Platform
• Optimize compute, clusters, SQL warehouses, and serverless capabilities
• Develop data pipelines and ingestion frameworks using Apache Spark
• Govern access control and data management through Unity Catalog
• Automate platform provisioning and configuration management
• Monitor and optimize platform performance and capacity planning
• Integrate the platform with enterprise data sources and BI tools

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in data engineering and engineering fundamentals
• Proficiency in Databricks Lakehouse Platform and Unity Catalog management
• Strong SQL and Spark performance tuning skills
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation using Python and Bash
• Familiarity with AWS or hybrid cloud environments and containerized applications
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data governance principles
