Senior Datadog Security & Observability Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Datadog Security & Observability Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own and improve Datadog Cloud SIEM and security observability across environments
• Design and maintain telemetry capabilities across Datadog and security platforms
• Develop and tune detection rules for real-world attack scenarios
• Improve alert quality by minimizing false positives
• Automate onboarding of new telemetry sources for better visibility
• Collaborate with Security Operations on incident response workflow improvements
• Map detection coverage against MITRE ATT&CK and assess gaps

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in detection engineering or related technical role
• Deep hands-on experience with Datadog in complex cloud environments
• Strong knowledge of Datadog Cloud SIEM and log management
• Experience designing and maintaining Datadog log pipelines and processing rules
• Proficiency with scripting languages like Python or PowerShell
• Solid understanding of attacker behaviors and the MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Ability to leverage AI tools for detection engineering and analysis
