Senior Debug Engineer

Job Summary
The Senior Debug Engineer is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex failures in PCBAs during manufacturing, testing, and field support. The role focuses on yield improvement, root cause analysis, repair effectiveness, and support of IoT products that incorporate embedded and wireless technologies.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis of PCBA failures detected during ICT, FCT, system-level testing, burn-in, and customer returns.

· Analyze analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power circuits using schematics, layouts, and test reports.

· Support production lines in resolving recurring defects and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

· Prepare detailed failure analysis reports and recommend long-term corrective actions.

· Mentor junior engineers and technicians on debugging methodologies and best practices.

· Support troubleshooting of IoT products incorporating Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, LoRa, NB-IoT, LTE/5G or similar wireless technologies.

· Collaborate with RF and design engineers to investigate wireless connectivity, antenna performance, communication reliability, and signal integrity issues.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

· Minimum 5-8 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, PCBA debugging, or failure analysis.

· Experience in EMS/high-volume manufacturing environments preferred.

Technical Skills

· Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics, power circuits, embedded systems, and communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, USB, Ethernet).

· Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and engineering documentation.

· Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and related debug equipment.

· Knowledge of ICT, FCT, AOI, X-Ray, and manufacturing test methodologies.

· Familiarity with IPC standards and structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and FMEA.

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

· Basic understanding of RF principles, antenna systems, impedance matching, and wireless communication fundamentals.

· Exposure to RF test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Signal Generators, or RF Shield Boxes.

· Hands-on experience debugging IoT or wireless-enabled products is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
