Senior Design Engineer (CAD/iLogic Programming/Vessels Manufacturing)

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and revise detailed engineering drawings, GA drawings, and fabrication drawings for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, silos, conveyors, and other industrial equipment.
• Ensure drawings comply with ASME codes, customer specifications, GD&T, welding standards, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and QA/QC teams to ensure accurate, manufacturable, and inspection-ready drawings.
• Develop and maintain Autodesk Inventor design automation using iLogic, including iLogic rules, iParts, iAssemblies, iFeatures, and Content Center libraries.
• Create parametric models and automated drawing templates to improve drafting efficiency and reduce repetitive manual work.
• Standardize CAD libraries, templates, BOMs, and drawing documentation while maintaining revision and version control.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive drafting tasks and continuously improve design workflows.
• Perform quality checks on engineering drawings to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior CAD engineers and drafters on drafting standards and design automation.
• Support engineering and production teams with technical drawing-related matters and report automation initiatives to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline. Diploma holders with strong design automation experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical drafting or CAD engineering within industrial equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, or related fabrication industries.
• At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience developing Autodesk Inventor iLogic rules and design automation.
• Proven experience building and maintaining parametric design libraries, including iParts, iAssemblies, iFeatures, and Content Center.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor; knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of ASME Section VIII, GD&T, welding symbols, and fabrication drawing standards.
• Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., VB.NET, VBA, or Python) is an added advantage.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or drafters is preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
