Job Description: Senior Design Engineer (Sheet Metal & Fabrication)Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Design Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of 2D/3D modeling using AutoCAD and advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, with a specialized focus on sheet metal design, complex assembly workflows, and diverse fabrication processes. You will be responsible for transforming conceptual designs into high-quality, production-ready engineering models and manufacturing drawings. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]Key Responsibilities1. 3D Modeling & 2D Drafting

• Generate precise 3D models and intricate assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Develop detailed 2D production drawings and layouts utilizing AutoCAD.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure exact manufacturing compatibility.
• Maintain design data integrity and archive engineering specifications properly.

2. Sheet Metal & Assembly Design

• Design sheet metal components, factoring in appropriate bend allowances, K-factors, and material thickness.
• Create flat-pattern layouts optimized for CNC laser cutting, punching, and bending operations.
• Manage large, complex top-down assemblies while ensuring structural integrity and checking for hardware interferences.

3. Fabrication & Manufacturing Coordination

• Design with fabrication in mind (DFM/DFA), ensuring parts align with cutting, welding, bending, and machining workflows.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and procurement documents to streamline the manufacturing line.
• Collaborate closely with production teams on the workshop floor to resolve design issues and improve manufacturability.

Required Skills and QualificationsEducation & Experience

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of core industry experience in mechanical design, sheet metal layout, and heavy fabrication.

Technical Expertise

• SolidWorks: Expert proficiency in Sheet Metal, Weldments, Large Assemblies, and Draw modules.
• AutoCAD: Exceptional command over 2D drafting, layout creation, and legacy data conversion.
• Fabrication Knowledge: Strong understanding of stainless steel/mild steel properties, welding standards (TIG/MIG), and laser-cutting operations.

Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving: Sharp analytical capabilities to troubleshoot production errors.
• Communication: Effective coordination with quality control, vendors, and cross-functional engineering teams

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
