Senior Detection Engineer II

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Detection Engineer II to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will own the development and maintenance of detection logic across a broad set of log sources to strengthen security visibility and response capabilities.

The person in this position will support forensic investigations, improve telemetry collection, and build automation that helps security teams triage threats more efficiently.

In close partnership with analysts and other security stakeholders, this individual will help advance threat hunting and detection maturity across cloud and endpoint environments.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $196,000 – $207,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detection logic across various log sources
• Assist in cyber forensic investigations across multiple platforms
• Optimize log ingestion and telemetry collection for actionable security data
• Design and build automation workflows to streamline detection triage
• Mentor junior analysts in threat hunting and detection techniques

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in detection engineering, incident response, or offensive security roles
• Experience with at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Deep understanding of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) in zero trust environments
• Proficient knowledge of macOS internals and threat telemetry
• Experience with detection-as-code workflows including version control and CI/CD pipelines
• Basic proficiency in programming languages like Python or Golang
• Relevant security certifications such as GCFA, OSCP, or GCIA
