Senior DevOps, Cloud Security & AI Automation Engineer

We're looking for a hands-on Senior DevOps, Cloud Security & AI Automation Engineer to strengthen the security, reliability and operational efficiency of a growing international ecommerce platform.

This role combines DevOps, cloud infrastructure, security engineering and AI-enabled operations.

You should have strong practical experience with both Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Cloudflare, particularly Cloudflare Workers and security services.

We are also looking for someone who already understands how modern AI tools and agents can help security and infrastructure teams detect issues earlier, investigate incidents faster and automate repetitive operational work safely.

This is not primarily a support or system-administration role. You will be expected to investigate difficult infrastructure problems, identify root causes and implement robust solutions.

What You Will Own

You will:

• Manage, secure and optimise cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
• Build, maintain and troubleshoot Cloudflare Workers and edge infrastructure.
• Configure and improve Cloudflare security controls, including WAF, rate limiting, bot protection and DDoS controls.
• Monitor infrastructure for suspicious behaviour, vulnerabilities, misconfiguration and unusual activity.
• Strengthen IAM, least-privilege access, service accounts, credentials and secrets management.
• Improve logging, monitoring, alerting and infrastructure observability.
• Investigate production and security incidents from detection through root-cause analysis.
• Improve CI/CD, deployment, rollback and recovery processes.
• Automate infrastructure and security operations where appropriate.
• Review cloud usage and identify unnecessary infrastructure cost.
• Maintain clear infrastructure documentation and incident runbooks.
• Work with developers to ensure infrastructure and applications follow strong security practices.

AI-Native Security & Operations

A major part of this role is helping us develop a more AI-assisted security and infrastructure operating model.

You should have practical experience, or strong demonstrable capability, using AI agents or AI-assisted workflows for areas such as:

• security alert investigation and enrichment;
• log and event analysis;
• anomaly detection and incident triage;
• cloud-configuration and IAM reviews;
• identifying infrastructure vulnerabilities or suspicious patterns;
• analysing Cloudflare and cloud-security events;
• Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration review;
• generating and improving incident-response runbooks;
• automating repetitive operational investigations;
• helping engineers understand likely root causes faster.

We are particularly interested in candidates who understand how to combine AI automation with deterministic controls, evidence and human approval.

AI-generated conclusions should never simply be trusted because they appear plausible.

You must be able to demonstrate genuine security experience, rather than DevOps experience with security added to the job title.
