Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure)

We are hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to work with a US-based software engineering team. You will deploy and operate custom and third-party software systems, automate and streamline software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, and build tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations.

This is an onsite role in our Islamabad office. Working hours follow US Eastern Time (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM ET), so candidates must be comfortable working a night shift in Pakistan.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for cloud applications and infrastructure
• Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automate its deployment using industry-standard tools
• Automate build systems and cloud infrastructure deployment
• Respond to monitoring alerts and troubleshoot cloud-based systems across dev, test, and production environments
• Troubleshoot CI/CD infrastructure and processes (disk space, network issues, etc.) and support pipeline setup for new projects
• Deploy and maintain third-party software on in-house infrastructure when required for compliance
• Implement DevOps practices that strengthen Agile delivery
• Work closely with developers to capture and analyze DevOps requirements
• Document automation processes
• Mentor junior team members
• Stay current with cloud and DevOps best practices and tooling

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or equivalent, including CI/CD workflows, pipelines, and IaC scripts
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and deployment strategies such as blue-green and canary
• Experience troubleshooting Azure or other cloud-based systems
• Experience with SDLC practices (branching, branch protection policies, code review) and code analysis tools such as SonarQube
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell or Bash
• Strong familiarity with REST APIs
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with .NET (C#) and JS/TS/Node applications
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Grafana, Prometheus
• Experience with Azure services such as Functions, App Service, AKS, Virtual Machines, Event Hubs, Service Bus, API Management, Application Gateway, and Azure SQL
• Experience with Bicep or ARM templates
• Certifications such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)

Pay: Rs500,000.00 - Rs600,000.00 per month
