Senior DevOps Engineer (C++ Platform Development)

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior DevOps & C++ Platform Engineer (m/f/d) to support our client's team in Dresden, Germany . In this role, you will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of container-based development and customer platforms for maritime applications. You will work closely with software development teams, implement modern DevOps practices, and drive the automation of development, testing, and deployment processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and operation of modern IT platforms for maritime applications.
• Plan, implement, operate, and maintain virtualization and container solutions for development and testing environments.
• Implement, enhance, and evaluate DevOps strategies, processes, and best practices.
• Work closely with software development teams to integrate DevOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and deployments.
• Develop and maintain reusable templates, components, and modules for platform and infrastructure services.
• Ensure the stability, scalability, and maintainability of container-based platform environments.
• Analyze issues, troubleshoot problems, and continuously improve existing development and operational processes.
• Support the introduction of new technologies and automation solutions.
• Document technical solutions, processes, and architectures in accordance with applicable standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in software development with C++.
• Strong hands-on experience in DevOps environments and the operation of modern software platforms.
• Excellent knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and experience with container-based platforms.
• Experience with virtualization solutions and development environments.
• Proven experience in designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with build, deployment, and automation processes.
• Practical experience collaborating with software development teams in agile environments.
• Strong knowledge of Linux-based environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Python for automation and DevOps tooling development.
• Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar container orchestration platforms.
• Knowledge of modern Infrastructure-as-Code approaches (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Experience in building and operating complex development platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
• Experience in regulated or technically demanding industries such as maritime, defense, or embedded systems.
• Strong analytical skills combined with a structured and independent working style.
