Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will:

• Act as the primary technical point of contact for our clients: lead technical meetings and workshops, present solutions and estimates aligned with management, explain trade-offs clearly, manage expectations, and turn client requirements into working infrastructure
• Write and maintain clear technical documentation (architecture and design docs, runbooks, and client-facing solution documents) using docs-as-code practices
• Be hands-on every day: build, deploy, automate and troubleshoot infrastructure and pipelines yourself, not only design or review them
• Respond to incidents during business hours (with occasional escalation support outside them), troubleshoot production issues, and perform root cause analysis; analyze logs and metrics to identify system bottlenecks and failures
• Automate the provisioning and operation of Azure infrastructure as code with Terraform, avoiding manual changes
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions), GitOps delivery and monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana
• Build Azure pricing models for client deployments, for review by management: size the infrastructure (compute, storage, networking, AKS node pools) by client size, workload and SLA requirements, and monitor and optimize ongoing cloud costs
• Collaborate effectively with the team, share knowledge, and coordinate with management on priorities and technical decisions
• Contribute to architectural reviews and the evaluation of new cloud technologies
• Be based in Thessaloniki full-time, on-site from our office, with occasional travel to client sites upon request

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps / cloud engineering role, with a track record of running production systems
• Proven experience as a client-facing technical point of contact: leading technical discussions, presenting solutions and cost estimates, and managing expectations with both technical and business stakeholders, in fluent English
• Strong technical writing skills: proven experience producing architecture documentation, diagrams (e.g., draw.io, Mermaid) and runbooks, kept up to date alongside the code
• Strong teamwork skills: collaborating effectively with peers and coordinating with management
• Strong experience in Azure services
• Proven experience formulating Azure pricing models: sizing environments by client size, workload and SLAs, estimating costs (e.g., Azure Pricing Calculator, reservations, savings plans) and tracking them with Azure Cost Management
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and its ecosystem
• Strong experience with GitOps and DevOps practices: infrastructure as code with Terraform, GitOps, CI/CD automation, and observability (metrics and logs) with Prometheus, Grafana and similar tools
• Strong experience with cloud security: secrets management, RBAC and identity (Microsoft Entra ID)
• Strong knowledge of Unix or Linux-type systems, including administration and performance troubleshooting

Desired Skills

• 8+ years of hands-on DevOps / cloud engineering experience
• Exposure to AIOps (e.g., AI-assisted alerting, anomaly detection, automated incident triage)
• Experience operating data stores (e.g., PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch), ideally on Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS or Google Cloud
• Master’s degree in a related field
