Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Ansible automation, Windows and Linux server administration, application deployment, and production migrations. The ideal candidate will have experience automating server configurations, deploying and troubleshooting PHP applications and .NET APIs, and supporting business-critical applications in controlled enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, variables, handlers, and Jinja2 templates.
• Automate server configuration and application deployment across Windows Server and enterprise Linux environments.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot PHP 7/8 applications, Composer dependencies, REST APIs, .NET Framework, .NET 6+, and ASP.NET Core APIs.
• Configure and maintain IIS, Apache HTTP Server, Nginx, reverse proxies, TLS/SSL bindings, and application pools.
• Support application integration with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL databases.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash/Shell.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or equivalent pipeline platforms.
• Manage deployment artifacts, environment configurations, release approvals, deployment validation, and rollback procedures.
• Support production migrations, cutover activities, rollback planning, and post-migration stabilization.
• Troubleshoot application and infrastructure incidents, analyze logs, perform root-cause analysis, and maintain operational runbooks.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, security, database, development, QA, and application-support teams.
• Follow security best practices for service accounts, secrets management, least privilege, and server hardening.
• Maintain technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to application-support and operations teams.

Mandatory Technical Skills

1. DevOps & Ansible Automation

• 6+ years of overall DevOps experience, as specified in the requirement.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting Ansible automation.
• Strong knowledge of Ansible roles, playbooks, inventories, variables, handlers, Jinja2 templates, and YAML.
• Experience with idempotency, error handling, Git, and vault or secrets integration.

2. Application Deployment & Troubleshooting

• Hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting PHP 7/8 applications and REST APIs.
• Experience with .NET Framework and/or modern .NET APIs, including ASP.NET Core.
• Knowledge of Composer and Windows services.

3. Windows & Linux Administration

• Experience administering Windows Server and enterprise Linux environments.
• Knowledge of services, processes, permissions, packages, logs, storage, and scheduled jobs.

4. Web Servers & Application Hosting

• Experience with IIS, Apache HTTP Server, and/or Nginx.
• Knowledge of reverse proxy configuration, TLS/SSL bindings, and application pools.

5. Database Technologies

• Experience integrating applications with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
• Knowledge of database connectivity, authentication, schema deployment, backup/restore coordination, and basic performance troubleshooting.

6. Scripting & Version Control

• Hands-on experience with PowerShell and Bash/Shell scripting.
• Knowledge of Git, YAML, JSON, and configuration templating.

7. CI/CD & Release Management

• Experience with Azure DevOps or an equivalent CI/CD platform.
• Knowledge of artifact handling, pipeline configuration, release approvals, deployment validation, and rollback.

8. Networking & Security

• Knowledge of DNS, firewalls, ports, proxies, load balancers, and certificates.
• Understanding of service accounts, secrets management, least privilege, and server hardening.

9. Production Operations

• Experience supporting business-critical production migrations.
• Knowledge of cutover, rollback, stabilization, monitoring, log analysis, incident troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience maintaining runbooks and providing knowledge transfer.

Required Experience

• 6+ years of overall DevOps experience.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, systems engineering, application operations, platform engineering, or infrastructure automation.
• 4+ years of practical experience developing and supporting Ansible automation for application and server configuration.
• Hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting PHP applications and .NET APIs.
• Experience administering both Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Experience supporting production migrations and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant professional experience is also acceptable.
• Certifications or professional training in Linux, Windows Server, Azure, Ansible, DevOps, database administration, or related technologies are advantageous.
