Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to lead and optimize our development, deployment, and operational processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, system administration, and automation tools. This role involves designing scalable solutions, managing complex distributed systems, and ensuring the reliability and security of our enterprise software environment. The Senior DevOps Engineer will collaborate closely with development teams to implement best practices in CI/CD, containerization, and cloud computing across multiple platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Duties

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure utilizing tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef for automation and configuration management.
• Manage container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Docker, ensuring efficient deployment of microservices architectures.
• Oversee system administration tasks across various operating systems including Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu), UNIX, and Windows Server environments.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using languages such as Python, Shell Scripting, PowerShell, and Perl to streamline deployment pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like New Relic, Splunk, and Elasticsearch to ensure system health and performance.
• Collaborate on disaster recovery planning, incident response, and security protocols including firewall management, identity & access management (Active Directory, IAM).
• Support software development lifecycle (SDLC) activities by integrating automated testing (System testing) and continuous integration (Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab, TFS).
• Manage web application servers such as Tomcat, Weblogic, and WebSphere; optimize performance for enterprise applications.
• Ensure high availability through effective network management (TCP/IP, DNS, WAN/LAN configurations) and virtualization technologies (VMware, OpenStack).
• Lead efforts in release management, version control (Git, SVN), and compliance with industry standards for software quality assurance.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role with a focus on enterprise software environments.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud computing platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong expertise in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash (Unix Shell), or equivalent; experience with PowerShell is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
• Deep understanding of system administration across Linux (CentOS), UNIX, Windows Server environments, including network administration (TCP/IP, DNS).
• Knowledge of database systems such as *MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, DynamoDB*; experience with data backup/restore strategies is preferred.
• Experience managing web services (REST APIs) and application servers (Tomcat, *Weblogic*).
• Strong background in security practices including firewall management, disaster recovery planning, identity & access management (Active Directory).
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware) and cloud infrastructure automation tools (Terraform).
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems issues efficiently.

Pay: $86,900.00-$171,000.00 per year
