Project Summary

Senior DevOps Engineer focused on observability, responsible for migrating monitoring systems from Splunk to New Relic and establishing observability standards, governance, and technical foundations across platforms.

Goals and deliverables

Main Responsibilities & Key Activities

• Lead migration of monitoring systems from Splunk to New Relic

• Design and implement New Relic governance (account structure, tagging, alerting, dashboards, SLOs)

• Define and promote observability ways of working across engineering teams

• Implement observability capabilities (logs, APM, infrastructure, tracing, synthetics, integrations)

• Collaborate with application teams for service onboarding and instrumentation

• Automate observability configurations using Terraform and integrate into GitHub CI/CD workflows

• Provide technical guidance on Azure, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and observability practices

• Align monitoring and alerting with SLIs/SLOs

• Support continuous improvement of operations, reliability, performance, and security

Experience Required

• Minimum 8 years of experience

Must-Have Experience / Skills / Knowledge

• Strong hands-on experience with New Relic including dashboards, alerts, APM, infrastructure, logs, distributed tracing, synthetics, and performance tuning

• Experience with Terraform including modular IaC design, provisioning, state management, and automation

• Experience with Azure Cloud covering resource management, networking, IAM, governance, and cost controls

• Experience with GitHub including GitHub Actions, CI/CD workflows, repository governance, and security features

• Experience in observability practices including implementation of logs, APM, infrastructure monitoring, distributed tracing, synthetics, and integrations

• Experience defining monitoring aligned with SLIs/SLOs

Nice-to-Have Experience / Skills / Knowledge

• Experience with Splunk including log pipelines, dashboards, and alerting

• Experience with SonarCloud including code scanning automation and rules management

• Experience with Open Policy Frameworks (OPA, Conftest) for Policy-as-Code

• Experience with Kubernetes including deployments, troubleshooting, and Helm
