Senior DevOps Engineer / Lead DevOps Engineer (Multiple Levels Open)

Role Overview

At StarHub, we are looking for passionate, growth-minded DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineers at all experience levels, from mid-level individual contributors to senior engineers and technical leads, to drive our next-generation cloud-native platforms.

Whether your expertise lies in hands-on application development, cloud infrastructure automation, IAM platforms, or telco-grade provisioning and online charging systems, you will play a critical role in delivering resilient, secure, and scalable solutions for mission-critical customer journeys.

What You Will Do

Depending on your experience level and technical alignment, you will contribute across one or more of the following core domains:

• Platform Reliability & SRE: Operate high-availability microservices and cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes (EKS, OpenShift), AWS cloud services, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation). Apply SRE principles, define SLOs/SLIs, and lead incident response/RCA.
• CI/CD & Automation: Architect, maintain, and enhance automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and GitOps tooling (Argo CD, Flux) using Pipeline-as-Code, quality gates, and automated security scanning (SAST, DAST, SCA).
• Observability & Operational Governance: Implement end-to-end monitoring, logging, and alerting using Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and ELK. Participate in on-call rotations to maintain platform stability and meet SLAs.
• Telco Provisioning & Charging Systems: Support, troubleshoot, and optimize mission-critical telco customer flows across CRM, Order Management, Provisioning, Charging, Billing, and Network Activation (IN/OCS, PCRF/PCF, HLR/HSS/UDM).
• Identity & Access Management (IAM): Administer enterprise IAM, SSO, and authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, LDAP, RBAC, Symantec SiteMinder/Directory), supporting security compliance and audits.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship (Lead/Senior Levels): Drive DevOps strategy, lead architectural design reviews, govern deployment controls, coordinate with cross-functional vendors/stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• Experience Requirements by Level:

  • Senior Engineer: 3–4+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, software engineering, cloud ops, or IAM support.
  • Lead Engineer: 6+ years of total experience, including at least 2–3 years in a senior or technical leadership capacity.

• Core Skills:

  • Strong foundation in Linux internals, networking, and shell scripting (Bash, Python, Go, etc.).
  • Familiarity or working experience with AWS core services, IAM security, and container environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Hands-on exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Maven/Gradle) and Git version control.
  • Good SQL skills (PostgreSQL or equivalent) and experience with API integrations (REST/SOAP).
  • Proven experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies and ITSM frameworks (Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow).

Preferred Experience & Key Differentiators

• Microservices Development: Java and Spring Boot expertise, Apache Camel (EIPs), and distributed event architecture (Kafka, Red Hat AMQ).
• Platform Engineering & GitOps: Advanced multi-cluster Kubernetes administration (EKS/OpenShift), Helm charts, Argo CD, or Flux.
• Security & IAM: In-depth knowledge of identity lifecycles, enterprise SSO implementations, and security compliance.
