What they need

Senior DevSecOps Engineer

AWS | Kubernetes | Terraform | ArgoCD

Location: Fully Remote, UK

I'm partnering with a growing, profitable fintech business developing sophisticated data and analytics technology for financial markets.

They're looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join a small, experienced engineering team, taking ownership across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, deployment automation and security.

This is fundamentally a hands on platform engineering role with security embedded throughout. You'll be building, operating and improving production infrastructure, not simply overseeing security policies or managing compliance.

It's an opportunity to work closely with senior engineers, influence technical decisions and have genuine ownership within a business that values engineering quality and practical solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Building, operating and improving production AWS infrastructure, with particular emphasis on Kubernetes and EKS.
  • Managing infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring environments are secure, consistent and maintainable.
  • Developing and improving GitOps deployment workflows using ArgoCD.
  • Strengthening CI/CD pipelines and embedding security controls throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Improving cloud and container security, including IAM, access controls, vulnerability management and infrastructure hardening.
  • Working with tools such as Wiz to identify, prioritise and remediate security risks.
  • Collaborating closely with software engineers to improve deployment reliability, developer experience and platform performance.
  • Contributing to architectural decisions, automation and the ongoing evolution of the engineering platform.

Essential experience

  • Strong commercial experience building and operating production AWS infrastructure.
  • Hands on experience with Kubernetes, ideally AWS EKS, including deployment, operations, troubleshooting and cluster lifecycle management.
  • Strong Terraform experience, including writing and maintaining infrastructure as code.
  • Practical commercial experience with ArgoCD and GitOps deployment workflows.
  • Experience developing, maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines.
  • A solid understanding of cloud security principles, including IAM, least privilege access, network security and secure infrastructure configuration.
  • Experience working directly with software engineering teams in a production environment.
  • The ability to take ownership, solve problems independently and contribute within a small, collaborative engineering team.

Desirable experience

  • Cloud security platforms such as Wiz or similar CNAPP/CSPM tooling.
  • Container and application security tooling, including vulnerability scanning, SAST and software composition analysis.
  • Automation or software development experience using Python, Go or similar languages.
  • GitHub Actions, Helm and Kubernetes security tooling.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services or another environment where reliability and security are critical.

Why consider it?

You'll join a profitable, growing SaaS business where engineering has a direct impact on the product and its customers.

The team is small enough for your contributions to be visible, but experienced enough to offer interesting technical challenges and genuine collaboration.

You'll have the opportunity to influence how the platform develops, improve security through engineering rather than process alone, and work with modern cloud technologies in a fully remote environment.

Package includes:

  • Up to £85,000 base salary
  • Annual bonus of up to 20%
  • Fully remote working within the UK
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

If you're an experienced platform engineer with a strong security mindset, or a DevSecOps engineer who enjoys getting hands on with infrastructure, I'd welcome a conversation.

Other offers great for you!
