Senior Director, Data Platform & AI Engineering

We’re looking for a senior technology leader to drive the modernisation of Pontoon’s technology landscape . You’ll lead software engineering, application development, automation, integration and AI-enabled capabilities, creating scalable and secure solutions and building the technical foundations for our Agentic platform.

Location: UK, Poland, Germany or France

What you’ll be doing :

• Leading Pontoon’s software engineering capability across platform modernisation, application development, automation, integration and AI-enabled engineering,
• Defining the technical direction and engineering roadmap that translates product and transformation priorities into scalable solutions,
• Modernising the technology landscape to improve architecture, scalability, security, maintainability and speed of change,
• Building the engineering foundation for Pontoon’s Agentic platform, including APIs, services, workflows, automation frameworks and agent orchestration patterns,
• Providing senior technical leadership across software architecture, cloud services, APIs, integrations, automation and technical governance,
• Acting as a senior technical advisor, guiding leadership on architectural trade-offs, feasibility, risks, dependencies and investment needs,
• Taking AI and automation initiatives from prototype to secure, scalable and production-ready solutions,

About you :

• Significant experience leading software engineering, application development, platform engineering, automation or digital product delivery,
• Proven experience modernising legacy or fragmented technology environments,
• Strong knowledge of modern software engineering, application architecture, APIs, cloud services, integrations and automation frameworks,
• Experience translating product strategy and transformation priorities into engineering roadmaps and delivery plans,
• Experience with AI, agentic platforms, workflow automation or ML-enabled products is strongly preferred,
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and develop technical leaders,
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical topics to executive and non-technical stakeholders,
• Experience in workforce solutions, HR technology, managed service provider environments, SaaS, platform businesses, or contingent workforce management is preferred but not required,
