Role & responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior .NET Developer with around 8 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, modernizing, and maintaining enterprise applications on Microsoft technology stack. The candidate must have strong expertise in VB.NET, SQL Server, and .NET Core, along with proven experience in SSO implementation and API development/integration. The role requires strong problem-solving capabilities, secure application development knowledge, and the ability to work closely with business and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, .NET Framework, and .NET Core / .NET 6+.
• Develop, implement, secure, and maintain RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API and related Microsoft technologies.
• Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations with enterprise identity providers using standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, and JWT-based authentication.
• Design and optimize SQL Server database objects including tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, and complex queries.
• Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, code reviews, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, API, database, and production issues within agreed timelines.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, QA teams, Project Managers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to convert requirements into working technical solutions.
• Support modernization/migration initiatives from legacy VB.NET/.NET Framework applications to .NET Core or newer platforms.
• Prepare technical design documents, deployment notes, API documentation, and knowledge transfer material.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance on coding standards, database development, API implementation, authentication, and secure development practices.

Mandatory experience implementing SSO using OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, JWT, Azure AD / Microsoft Entra ID, ADFS, Okta, Ping Identity, or similar identity providers.

Must Have

API Implementation

Mandatory experience designing, developing, securing, documenting, consuming, and integrating REST APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API.

Must Have

API Security

Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, token handling, API versioning, error handling, logging, and secure API design.

Preferred / Strong Plus

Additional Technical Skills

• ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET Core Web API, ADO.NET, Entity Framework, LINQ, and Web Services.
• RESTful API design, API integration with internal and external systems, Swagger/OpenAPI documentation, and Postman or similar API testing tools.
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and basic frontend integration experience.
• IIS deployment, application configuration, debugging, logging, and production support.
• Git, Azure DevOps, branching strategies, pull requests, build pipelines, and CI/CD process understanding.
• Secure coding practices, application troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production issue analysis.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault, Azure Service Bus, Application Insights, or other Azure services.
• Microservices architecture and distributed application design patterns.
