Senior Drafter (Manufacturing)

Key Information:

• Working Location: Tuas (walking distance from MRT)
• 5 day – Mon to Fri (8am to 5pm)

About the role:

This Drafter position to support design engineering and product development by creating dimensioned drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for customised electro-mechanical products using CAD software.
• Produce technical drawings, assemblies, and Bills of Materials (BOM) while ensuring accurate documentation within the ERP system.
• Support engineering teams in product design, customisation, and new product development.
• Prepare technical illustrations, product documentation, and other engineering materials for internal and customer use.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and other departments to support prototype development, product improvements, and manufacturing activities.
• Provide technical drafting support for customer-specific projects, including layout drawings and installation documentation.
• Maintain and update engineering drawings, CAD/ BIM libraries, and product design databases.
• Participate in customer discussions, technical presentations, and project meetings when required.
• Assist with product certification documentation and engineering submissions to relevant regulatory bodies.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during product assembly, testing, and implementation.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in mechanical/electrical drafting in manufacturing work environment.
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent 3D CAD software.
• Autodesk certification is preferred.
• Experience generating 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Understanding of mechanical design principles; electrical drafting or wiring diagram experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with Revit, BIM modelling, or product certification standards would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Good communication skills in English and willingness to interact with customers when required.
• Knowledge of ERP systems and engineering documentation processes is an advantage.
