MV Specialist Electrical Design Engineer 🔌⚡

We’re growing our engineering team and looking for an experienced MV Specialist Electrical Design Engineer to take a lead role in delivering complex, high-value construction and mission-critical projects across international markets.

The opportunity

You’ll lead all medium voltage (MV) engineering and design activities from concept through to commissioning and handover. Working with project teams, clients, consultants, vendors and supply chain partners, you’ll make sure our MV power systems are robust, compliant and fully integrated.

What you’ll be doing

✅ Leading design, engineering and technical delivery of MV systems on major construction projects

✅ Driving MV activities from design development through procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and client handover

✅ Managing technical submittals, design reviews, equipment approvals and supply chain coordination

✅ Carrying out advanced power system studies in ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT and CDEGS

✅ Reviewing and validating MV designs against project specifications, IEC/IEEE standards and client requirements

✅ Working with BIM, construction, commissioning and procurement teams to keep designs practical and buildable

✅ Providing technical leadership and troubleshooting support across projects and regions

✅ Managing specialist vendors to ensure timely delivery and successful commissioning

✅ Contributing to engineering best practice and company-wide technical standards

✅ Mentoring graduate and junior engineers

🔹 Arc flash analysis

🔹 Earthing and grounding design

🔹 Harmonic and power quality analysis

🔹 Motor starting and transient stability studies

🔹 MV switchgear, transformers, protection relays and cable systems

🔹 Testing, commissioning and system validation

🔹 IEC and IEEE design standards

What we’re looking for

• A strong background in MV electrical design and power system engineering
• Proven delivery of MV packages on large-scale industrial, pharmaceutical, data centre or mission-critical projects
• Proficiency in ETAP, PSCAD, DIgSILENT, CDEGS or equivalent
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• The ability to lead technical design reviews and guide multidisciplinary teams
• A passion for engineering excellence, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
