Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Designer to support a variety of industrial energy and infrastructure projects. This role will be responsible for developing detailed electrical design packages and 3D models for complex facilities, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams throughout project execution.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with power generation or other heavy industrial facilities and be proficient in SmartPlant 3D (SP3D). This position offers the opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects in a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs and 3D models for industrial facilities using SmartPlant 3D (SP3D).
• Prepare electrical equipment layouts, raceway systems, cable tray routing, conduit routing, grounding systems, and lighting layouts.
• Generate electrical design deliverables including plans, sections, details, installation drawings, and construction packages.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, piping, structural, civil, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Support the design and layout of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.
• Assist with equipment placement and electrical routing for major plant equipment and balance-of-plant systems.
• Participate in design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, and constructability reviews.
• Review vendor drawings and incorporate equipment information into project designs.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Support project execution schedules and deliver high-quality design documentation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of electrical design experience within power generation, industrial, energy, petrochemical, oil & gas, or similar heavy industrial facilities.
• Proficiency with SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) required.
• Experience developing electrical layouts, cable tray systems, conduit routing, grounding systems, and lighting plans.
• Strong understanding of electrical equipment and power distribution systems utilized in industrial facilities.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and other electrical design software is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Combined-cycle or simple-cycle power generation projects.
• Gas turbine, balance-of-plant, switchyard, transformer, or substation-related design experience.
• Greenfield facility design and large capital project execution.
• Experience supporting projects through detailed design and construction phases.
