Senior Electrical Draftsman

We are hiring a Senior Electrical Draftsman to lead our electrical drafting team and deliver shop drawings, TAQA submission drawings and as-builts on time for our building projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical Draftsmen: allocate drawing work, set deadlines and check every drawing before issue.
• Prepare and review complex electrical shop drawings: SLDs, LV distribution schematics, riser diagrams, power and lighting layouts, containment, earthing and lightning protection.
• Prepare and check ELV shop drawings: structured cabling, CCTV, access control, intercom and MATV/IPTV layouts and riser diagrams.
• Prepare TAQA Distribution submission drawing packages in line with TAQA's electrical drawing checklist, and close out TAQA and consultant comments.
• Coordinate electrical and ELV services with other MEP disciplines, structure and architecture; resolve clashes in combined services drawings.
• Set and maintain CAD standards, title blocks, layer conventions and drawing templates.
• Control drawing revisions and the drawing register with the Document Controller.
• Produce and check as-built drawings for handover.
• Support engineers with quantity take-offs from drawings.

Requirements

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Draughting.
• 8+ years as an electrical draftsman on building projects, including 4+ years in the UAE and 2+ years leading or checking other draftsmen's work.
• Expert in AutoCAD; proficient in Revit MEP.
• Proven record of TAQA Distribution drawing approvals for building projects.
• Strong knowledge of TAQA Distribution drawing requirements and the Abu Dhabi Electricity Wiring Regulations.

Preferred

• Navisworks for clash detection.
• BIM coordination experience at LOD 300–400.
• Experience with ELV shop drawings and riser diagrams for multi-storey buildings.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
