Senior Electrical Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review project specifications, contract agreement and extract key electrical design parameters and verify project checklist accordingly (Per project)
• Prepare clarifications and deviation list (Per project)
• Provide guidance to Electrical Engineer in design stage and document, drawing submission
• Monitor Electrical Engineer design submission
• Provide proposal to client on the new design concept (as needed)
• Plan document submission schedule based on VDRL (Per project)
• Prepare/check electrical analyses based on project checklist and crane analysis (Per project)
• Nominate major electrical components and check major component list (per Project)
• Prepare/check electrical schematic diagram based on electrical analyses and project checklist (Per project)
• Provided design parameters and guidance to draftsperson in order to produce drawings (Regular)
• Prepare/check drawings/documents based on electrical analyses and project checklist (Regular)
• Check and approve drawings/quotation from supplier based on design requirements (As needed)
• Generate and update electrical checklists based on new findings (As needed)
• Respond to ECN within 24 hours (When needed)
• Coordinate and monitor electrical draftsperson’s work schedule (Regular)
• Source for new/alternative products from the market based on design requirements (As needed)
• Respond to 3rd party comments on drawings/documents (As needed)
• Prepare installation, operation and maintenance procedure for electrical components (As needed)
• Validate information on operation and maintenance manual (As needed)
• Provide technical support to EC and other departments (As needed)
• Troubleshoot electrical related issues (As needed)
• Contribute on departmental and sectional improvements (As needed)
• Provide guidance to new EE (Regular)
• Visit factory floor to update knowledge on fabrication, assembly, testing and commissioning (Weekly)
• Attend trainings, conferences, exhibitions to enrich knowledge (Continually)

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with 3 to 5 years’ experience in heavy machinery or crane manufacturing or similar field
• Enthusiasm and open minded.
• Ability to lead the team and subordinates.
• Willing to work at Senawang, Negeri Sembilan.
• Independent, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skill to communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia & Chinese with people at all levels and written communication skills. We are seeking candidates proficient in Chinese to effectively communicate with Chinese-speaking clients.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, MathCAD Design software
