Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing, supervising, and coordinating all electrical engineering activities related to electro-mechanical contracting projects. This includes power distribution systems, lighting systems, low-current systems, testing and commissioning, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, local authority regulations, quality standards, and project schedules.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Execution

• Lead and supervise electrical works from project initiation through final handover.
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents.
• Plan and monitor project activities to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Manage manpower, materials, and equipment efficiently.
• Prepare project progress reports and attend coordination meetings.

Engineering & Technical Responsibilities

• Review and approve electrical design and shop drawings.
• Verify material submittals and technical compliance.
• Ensure proper installation of electrical systems in accordance with approved drawings and standards.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, architectural, and ELV teams.

Site Supervision

• Supervise installation of power, lighting, earthing, lightning protection, emergency lighting, and low-current systems.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality workmanship.
• Monitor subcontractors and site workforce performance.
• Ensure compliance with approved methods and project requirements.

Testing & Commissioning

• Oversee testing and commissioning activities for electrical systems.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and local authorities.
• Ensure all systems are fully operational and meet performance requirements.
• Participate in project handover and close-out activities.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure all electrical installations comply with project specifications and applicable electrical codes.
• Implement QA/QC procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor and maintain project documentation, inspections, and testing records.
• Ensure compliance with ADDC, AADC, DEWA, SEWA, FEWA, Civil Defense, and other relevant authority requirements.

Cost Control & Procurement

• Assist in project budgeting and cost monitoring.
• Review material requisitions and procurement schedules.
• Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Ensure all electrical works comply with HSE regulations and company policies.
• Conduct safety inspections and toolbox talks when required.
• Promote a safe working environment and address potential hazards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical Contracting, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• Strong experience in commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, and low-current systems.
• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements and approval procedures.
• Professional engineering certification is an advantage.

Experience Requirement

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Electro-Mechanical Contracting with extensive expertise in power distribution systems, lighting systems, low-current systems, electrical installations, testing & commissioning, project management, and coordination with local authorities in the UAE/GCC.

Pay: Up to AED15,000.00 per month
