What they need

Tensor is an American Physical AI company dedicated to building agentic products that empower people. Our flagship product, the Tensor Robocar, is the world’s first personal Robocar and the first AI agentic vehicle — fully autonomous, automotive-grade, and built for private ownership at scale. Founded in 2016 in Silicon Valley, Tensor is headquartered in San Jose, California, with offices in Barcelona, Singapore, and Dubai. At Tensor, we champion personal AI autonomy and ownership. Our vision is to build a future where everyone owns their own Artificial General Intelligence — a personal AGI that enables more time, freedom, and autonomy. We’re forging an alternative path where AGI serves only you, and is controlled solely by you.

We provide a competitive compensation package, opportunities for professional growth, participation in a discretionary equity incentive plan, and access to a comprehensive company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.

Join us to shape the future! Work with brilliant minds on technology transforming automotive industry and make a lasting impact.

We’re seeking a talented and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of high-speed digital circuits for advanced automotive applications, including processors, memory, and high-bandwidth interfaces.
  • Perform schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, and design reviews for high-speed systems.
  • Validate designs through simulations (SI/PI/EMI) and laboratory testing using oscilloscopes, VNA, TDR, and similar tools.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive standards for signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC performance.
  • Lead debugging efforts for high-speed digital systems in both lab and field environments.
  • Stay updated on emerging high-speed digital technologies and recommend innovative design approaches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in high-speed digital design, including high-frequency clocking, DDR memory, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and SerDes interfaces.
  • Proficiency with simulation tools for signal integrity and power integrity, such as HyperLynx, HFSS, or CST.
  • Familiarity with PCB stack-up design, impedance control, and via modeling techniques.
  • Strong understanding of power delivery network (PDN) optimization for high-speed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware validation and troubleshooting using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, VNAs, and TDRs.

Preferences

  • Knowledge of automotive-grade hardware design and standards such as ISO 26262 and AEC-Q200.
  • Experience with high-speed FPGA and SoC integration in automotive systems.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC mitigation techniques in high-speed designs.
  • Proficiency in Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or other PCB design tools.
  • Experience in automotive communication interfaces such as Automotive Ethernet, CAN-FD, and LVDS.
