The Opportunity We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to own battery management system hardware from first schematic through production release. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Team Lead, you'll act as technical lead on client programs and work closely with firmware, systems, and mechanical engineers to deliver hardware that is safe, testable, and manufacturable. This is a hands-on role with real room to shape how the team designs, tests, and grows, and a clear path to advance within the organization.

  • Start-to-finish ownership of PCB designs from schematic to layout
  • Board-level bring-up and testing to identify critical characteristics and optimize performance
  • Designing systems to specified product requirements
  • Create technical documentation, product requirements, test plans
  • Communicate technical progress to clients and internal team members
  • Working autonomously and taking initiative to manage priorities
  • Improving how the team works through test infrastructure, design reuse, and documentation that captures design rationale

Qualifications You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience, with multiple boards taken from concept through production
  • Experience designing PCBs (schematic capture and board layout), bring up and testing
  • Experience designing low-power embedded systems
  • Experience working with contractors, clients, vendors, and manufacturers
  • Experience collaborating in a team environment across engineering disciplines
  • Experience documenting engineering design work

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with design prototypes and system integration
  • Proficient in Altium Designer
  • Experience with designing for testing and manufacturability
  • Experience operating lab bench equipment (soldering, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, measurement techniques…etc.)
  • Experience in high-current and high-voltage design and layout practice: FET drive, thermal design, copper sizing, creepage and clearance
  • Experience with lithium-ion battery systems: pack behavior, cell monitoring and balancing, and current, voltage, and temperature measurement chains
  • Experience with ARM Cortex MCUs and FPGAs
  • Experience designing power electronics
  • Experience designing both digital and analog circuits
  • Experience designing products through high volume production
  • Experience designing electronics for harsh environments
  • A systematic approach to debugging, isolating faults to root cause and documenting what you found
  • Experience building test infrastructure, automated test stations with SCPI/PyVISA instrument control, custom fixtures and breakout boards, DAQ-based data logging
